Abstract

Current trends in the formation of urban ecosystems are based on
the concept of sustainable development of the biosphere. One of the most effective
tools for creating a sustainable and favorable ecological environment in urban areas
is the green framework of the city. In Moscow, urban landscaping is managed on
the basis of a number of laws aimed at maintaining the balance of green spaces,
optimizing the ecological state of the environment, preserving biodiversity, etc. The
basic principle of forming the green framework of the city is the integration of
natural components into the existing urban fabric. However, the concept of urban
landscaping shows a decrease in the role of natural ecosystems, which most
effectively ensure the preservation of natural biodiversity and the sustainability of
the green framework, as well as a departure from the landscape basis for the
formation of a green framework. As a mechanism for managing the green
framework, it is advisable to use an approach based on the assessment of the cost of
ecosystem services of landscapes and their components. The Moscow government
is actively working on the development of the city's green framework, which is
reflected in the system of laws governing its management, which make a significant
contribution to solving environmental issues at both the local and global levels.
However, the prospect of the city's development is likely to be associated with a
further loss of the landscape foundation and its continuity, as well as a decrease in
the share of natural ecosystems and an increase in the share of artificial ones in the
structure of the city's green framework, which will significantly reduce the
sustainability of urban areas.
