The results of monitoring the content of polychlorinated biphenyls
(PCBs) in the ambient air of Baikalsk in 2022-2024 are presented. The dependence
vapor pressure of PCB in the air on soil temperature was studied using dependence
graphs (lnP ⁓ 1/T). Based on the equilibrium thermodynamic model it is shown,
that during the cold season, PCBs concentrations in the atmosphere are formed due
to advective transport of contaminated air masses from sources at a significant
distance from the sampling site. In warm period, the main source of PCBs entering
the atmosphere is the soil surface contaminated with biphenyls. - Downloads
